Aisyah Turns 2

>>  01 December 2015

Like her first birthday, her 2nd birthday was also celebrated at home with only the three of us. Simple and sweet. We just created the backdrop to take pictures so that if Aisyah ask us about her 2nd birthday, we can just show the picture. Haha.

For the backdrop we put up the paper fan and the banner "Aisyah Turns 2". My husband was in charge of the banner while I was in charge of the paper fan. I used to make paper fan for my engagement before, so it was quite easy this time around. At first we wanted to use our white curtain for the base of the backdrop but turned out our white curtain was so washed out. It turned out very bad in the picture. So after a few tweaks, we decided to use a white chiffon fabric for the base. I had the fabric since my solemnization day three years ago. Never thought it can be so useful one day.

2 weeks prior to the event, we wanted to buy Baskin Robbin cake but none of us wanted to buy it and bring it back. We were so lazy to just drop by at any Baskin Robbin shop. So 5 days before the event, we decided to just order from my usual baker @bakingummi from instagram. It was very convenient to order from her because she delivered directly to my house. Like online shopping. Her cake and her cheese tart were delicious!

I hope when Aisyah grows up, she will respect people, be kind to other people, a fine muslimah and a good servant to Allah s.w.t. Amin.

My Breastfeeding Journey

>>  13 November 2015

Aisyah will be 2 years old this coming 26 Nov 2015. I started breastfeeding her just after I got out from the labor room, it felt amazing and weird at the same time.

Then the night after labor, I kept on breastfeeding her every 4 hours. But after we came back to my mom's house (where I had my confinement days), she kept on crying and sucking my milk like my milk was not enough. She was also crying like mad. To think back, I think there was "something" at my mom's house who disturbed her. Since we couldn't stop her from crying, we went to hospital and she was admitted into NICU for 2 days. During the 2 days, she drank formula milk. I just came during lunch and at evening to breastfeed her.

After she came back home, it was quite a struggle to breastfeed her. We (my husband and I) couldn't find the right position and we were wondering whether she drank enough. Then the nurse came and said she still had jaundice. OMG. We definitely need to make sure she drank ENOUGH milk. So I alternated between direct breastfeeding and bottle fed her. The jaundice reduced to safety level just before she reached 14 days old. Alhamdulillah.

I must say we struggled for almost 1 month just to ensure she latched properly. I believed sometimes she had that nipple confusion too. To be truth, there were times that I almost gave up breastfeeding. Seem like she didn't had enough milk, had trouble finding my nipple, she threw up many times, and that nipple crack and sore. All that lead to frustration and tension. I need to give credit to my husband here because he was really supportive, he googled how to latch properly, help me bottle fed her while I pumped my milk and a lot more. I really appreciate what he did. Thanks sayang.

My mom also kept saying I need to gave her bottle so that she can accept bottle when I started working. So at night I direct fed her but during the day I bottle fed her so that she will get used to it. But soon nearing to the end of my maternity leave, she suddenly rejected bottle. She didn't want bottle at all. Oh my goodness, its like my effort of pumping and bottle fed her before was nothing. Seriously it was tiring practicing giving her bottle because I need to pump, bottle fed her and washed all the bottles. Salute to all EP mom out there. So I guessed for the second baby, I don't want to practice giving bottle to my baby. Let it all come naturally. Haha.

Soon afterwards she can accept drinking milk from bottle because we kept on bottle fed her. Alhamdulillah.

throwback Aisyah when she was 5 months old
Before I started working, I tried to produce some stock of milk. I think my stock was around 80 oz before I started working. How I produced the stock? After I direct fed Aisyah, I will pump. My yield was only 1 oz/pump but I never gave up. Better small than nothing.

At the office, I pumped for three times a day. My schedule was at 10.30am, 1.30pm and 430pm.  It was only recently like when Aisyah was 22 months old, I reduce my pumping frequency to 2 times a day and when she was 23 months old, I stopped pumping. But she still breastfeeding at night. I know for sure it will be difficult to wean her off. I don't want to push it too. I want it to happen naturally, maybe some motivation words to her like saying:

" Bila Aisyah dah 2 tahun, Aisyah dah tak bole nenen, kalau sikit2 je boleh"

I noticed nowadays she didn't asked for nenen as much as before. Alhamdulillah.

Since she started eating, she didn't drink a lot of milk anymore. She used to drink 4 bottles x 4 oz per day during the day, then reduced to 3 bottles x 4 oz, then 2 bottles x 4 oz and  sometimes 1 bottle x 4 oz. It kept decreasing based on her need because she eats quite a lot.

There were times when I couldn't produce milk based on her demand, it happens when she reached 20 months, So I tried giving her formula milk but she rejected it. Then my supply increased back and I can catch up to her demand again. Since now I don't pump anymore, she drinks formula milk during the day.

May Allah ease our journey.

Till then, Assalamualaikum.

Constipation

>>  26 May 2015

Remember when I shared a story about my daughter and constipation? She's alright already. We went to see pediatrician and he prescribed a probiotic for her. My daughter consumed probiotic for almost 4 weeks and then she started showing some improvement. My husband and I thought it was due to my food intake too (she is still fully breastfeed) because on the third week, I started consume Qaseh Adinda (its a honey with mix of few things like date, habbatus sauda and a lot more). So I think both supplement help curing my daughter's constipation. Now, Alhamdulillah she pooped almost everyday.

Me, on the other hand still consume Qaseh Adinda. There was one time where I forgot to buy a new Qaseh Adinda and I ran out of stock. So I didn't consume Qaseh for almost 3 days. It was terrible, I experienced constipation and I think mine got hurt a bit down there. After I consumed Qaseh again, it was such a relieve. The constipation just gone. I also drink oat with milk too. Oat is a good source of fiber. So for those with constipation or digestion problem, try drink oat everyday.

Alright.

Just a quick update.

Bye, till then.

Assalamualaikum.

Aisyah and Constipation

>>  03 March 2015

My baby is having constipation right now. It is more than 2 months already. We are not sure what was the cause. Coincidentally, she got the constipation one week after discharged from the hospital due to fever. Here, some chronology of her case. 2 months ago, she took 5 days to p**p, so we gave her enema at her b**t to trigger the p**p to come out. Her p**p was like goat's p**p. Round and hard. Then we discovered there was blood when we was cleaning her b**t.  It triggered us to bring her to see a doctor, doctor A. Doc A prescribed lactulose with 2 m/l dosage three times a day before meal. The result? Nothing change. She still cried whenever she  p**p. In the meantime, we controlled her diet and no longer gave her cheese and provided a lot of fruits. We also changed the usual white rice into brown rice. We tried the 2 m/l for almost 2 weeks.

Since there was no result, we brought her to a pediatrician, Doctor B. Doc B explained to us how the digestion system works, intestine, fiber and when we asked him was it due to her diet? He said no. Apparently it was not true. It's partially due to diet as well. Doc B prescribed lactulose with 4 m/l dosage three times a day. The first day after using that dosage, her p**p was no longer as hard as before and she didn't suffer so much when p**ping. But after that, it went like before. She took 3 to 4 days to p**p. We tried that dosage for almost a month and still not satisfied because she still cried whenever she p**p.

So we bring her to another pediatrician, doctor C. Doc C explained to us about everything. The diet, how the intestine works and prescribed us with lactulose with 5 m/l dosage (medicine dose is given based on weight). Aisyah drinks 100% breast milk so it is definitely not the milk case. I never heard any case baby got constipation due to not suitable breast milk. In fact, she's been drinking breast milk even before that constipation case. The doctor also explained to us if this dosage does not work, he will prescribed her with other medicine which is the liquid paraffin. We tried lactulose with 5 m/l dosage for about 2 weeks and increased her fiber intake (a lot of fiber in the form of green vegetables in her porridge). And the result? Nothing change. With Doc C, we also suspected it was due to Aisyah psychological thinking. Maybe she scared to p**p? We are not sure.

So yesterday, we met again with Doc C. He gave us the liquid paraffin with 7.5 m/l dosage two times a day after meal and also provided to us referral letter to hospital. If Aisyah still does not p**p normally at the end of this week, she needs to be referred to the hospital. Why? Because they can provide other medicine which was not in his clinic (I'm not sure what medicine), admitted to be observed (this is weird since I'm the one who need to cook her food, right?), X-ray or maybe referred to child psychologist. The child psychologist will persuade her to p**p normally. He also asked us whether after I gave birth, the doctor gave the thyroid test. He explained normally after gave birth, the doctor will give the result test but apparently most of the doctor seems to forget. They did the test but forget to provide the result. I am so not sure about this. Might need to check Aisyah's book again. However, based on Doc C's observation, Aisyah should not have thyroid problem since there is no abnormality in her skin and she is a cheerful baby.

Hopefully there is good result by using the liquid paraffin. Really wish we does not have to go to the hospital. Amin. If need to see a child psychologist, I totally agree.

Okay, that's all. Till then, Assalamualaikum.

New Year Celebration

>>  18 February 2015

It's already February and yet I still wanted to post about my new year celebration.

My small family went for holiday in Penang for the new year. We planned to go there two weeks before the day. So I started preparing for it ; bought monopod/tripod, swimming diaper for Aisyah, apply leave and etc.

So on the day of new year 1st January, we moved from the house around 8 am and reach Penang around 1230 am. The journey was quite smooth. Aisyah slept almost 3 hours. Awesome! If she didn't sleep, I'm sure it was gonna be quite stressful. She doesn't like sitting in the car for so long, no freedom. When we reached Penang, it was already lunch time. We didn't have any clue where to eat. So we just drive though Penang Town and found Kopitiam, so we just ate there. Aisyah was so bad mood since she was so sleepy. So part of the food I just tapau and ate later in the hotel.

Then we drove to the hotel, saw Gurney Plaza, Gurney Paragon and Batu Ferringghi on our right. The road was not that packed I supposed. It was a bit jam in front of the Gurney Paragon since people wanted to go there but after that, it was not that bad . Oops I am a person who go through bad traffic everyday, so my judgement might be different. Hihi.

We arrived at our hotel around 3 pm, just the right time to check in. We stayed at Hard Rock Hotel Penang but I think it was not the right choice. The room price of course was expensive due to the brand but we kinda expected more for the interior decoration. I've been to Hard Rock Hotel  Penang before but just for sightseeing and not staying there. At the lobby yes we could see all the lights, drawing, and costumes. However there was not much to say about the room. Oh by the way, I stayed at Hill View Deluxe Room. Some of the furniture were quite washed out, the wardrobe door was not so smooth to open, same goes to the toilet wall (the toilet wall dividing the room and toilet can be moved) and the toilet door even got mushroom! Haha. While I was having my ehemm task in the toilet, looking at the mushroom was so funny! Haha. If Hard Rock Cafe Penang management happens to read this, can please please update your hotel room? I wanted to give my feedback when I was at the hotel but my husband seem wanted me to be positive, so I just didn't want to ruin our mood.

Another drawback was I think other visitor (not hotel guest) can easily come in and out of the hotel (like what I did back then). There are entrance at the front gate and from the beach. So less privacy and it made me didn't feel special staying in Hard Rock Hotel. The pool is quite small too.

Other than that, it was all okay.

Our first day there, we didn't do so much. In the evening, we just walked around the beach, took some pictures and headed back to our room. My husband and Aisyah took bath together in the hotel bathtub, then I put Aisyah to sleep and waited for her to wake up to go dinner. My husband wanted to have dinner in Hard Rock Cafe but really, at night there was life band, loud sound and with me wearing jubah, not really appropriate. So we dined somewhere else in Batu Feringghi. We googled and found this restaurant recommended by the blogger since this restaurant was featured in Jalan Jalan Cari Makan. When we arrived there, there was very big banner hanged at the restaurant mentioned it was featured  in Jalan Jalan Cari Makan. So we got excited and ready to eat. Not gonna mention the name here because I felt so dissapointed. We ordered kailan ikan masin, but it was not available so we ordered something else, kangkung belacan, also not available so we ordered mixed vegetables. Very easy to do but turned out they forgot it! They sent everything we ordered except that. I finished my food but still they had not send it. My husband cancelled it but they asked to wait. Since we were on holiday and still wanted to maintain our positivity, we just waited for it and didn't want to argue more. Overall, the food was not great. Their siakap tiga rasa tasted like asam pedas. Pftt.

The next morning we had our breakfast in the hotel. I have to admit I like their breakfast buffet because they got waffle. Super love waffle. Hehe. Despite Aisyah being so bad mood, I still enjoyed my breakfast very much.

After that we went to swimming pool. Only Aisyah and her dad played in the pool. Me on the other hand just captured their pictures. Aisyah at first was quite scared but after a while she kinda liked it. Hihi.

We had our lunch at Hard Rock Cafe. We kinda blur what to order. My husband ordered a burger while I order macaroni. Well, what can I say is western food is not our taste. We are pure Malay. Only ikan siakap 3 rasa, tomyam and kailan ikan masin can satisfy us. Haha.

Then we went to Gurney Paragon mall. Haha so weird right? Even we went to Penang, our favourite place to go was still shopping mall. The reason was because we didn't know where else to go. If in Malacca, we can go to zoo but here, really I have no idea. I assumed maybe we didn't do enough research before the holiday. We went shopping in H&M there and this shop here has mezzanine floor with stair only. So it was difficult for us since we brought Aisyah in stroller. Turned out H&M here got lift! It wasn't a normal big lift. It was a small lift enough just for three of us and the function buttons were not that much. The lift was quite fun I must say. Hihi. Like a prototype lift.

After the shopping trip, we went to Gurney Drive to buy our dinner, char kuey tiow while Aisyah we bought for her some McD porridge (with guilty feeling of course! I hope this is the last time we bought from McD, forever boycott).

The next day was our last day in Penang. So we had our same routine like yesterday. Breakfast in hotel, played in the swimming pool and at 12 pm we checked out from the hotel. Our holiday was not so much adventure, we just spent our time relaxing in the hotel. So there was no I Need Holiday after My Holiday thing. Haha.

Before we ended our holiday in Penang, we went to Toy Museum. I went to Toy Museum before but it was in different location than this time. Turned out they had moved. Seeing all the toys was quite fun but only up to that. There was nothing extraordinary about that place. If you visit Penang, it was alright if you don't get the chance to visit that place.

Alright, pictures time.

Aisyah 1st Birthday

>>  02 February 2015

Aisyah celebrated her 1st birthday on 26th November 2014. We planned a very simple birthday celebration for her. It just had three of us, Aisyah, my husband and I. Most of my friends threw birthday party for their daughter/son. But we knew Aisyah won't remember her 1st birthday party or maybe appreciate what we do for her birthday party (well at least not when she was 1 year old), so we thought why not save the hassle (and of course money) for her next next birthday.

So two weeks from her birthday, we planned what we should do during her birthday. We decided on simple decoration for the backdrop, cake and pictures for memory. That's it. It was very simple.

We bought her decoration from Kaison and Daiso. The balloon and party hat were from Kaison while the felt paper used for word decoration was from Daiso. Ooops and the Happy Birthday candle was from a gift shop in Paradigm Mall. Forgot the name, but its okay, the candles there mostly were not in good condition. All already broken. You can find other alternative for birthday candle in Mr Diy shop.

My husband was very nice, he made the word "Aisyah Turns 1" using felt fabric and hang the balloon. He also decorated the cake. Well, the cake was my idea. We planned to do it together but since that day he came back earlier than me, so he did it first. I book the cake from Kedai Kek Desney in Subang Bestari, it was 500g moist chocolate cake. The cake was RM38, together with decoration more or less it was RM60 in total. A lot cheaper compared to other birthday cake and still suitable for 1 year old birthday. Usually people use KitKat chocolate for the decoration, but since we boycott it, we had to find other solution which was using chocolate biscuits from Cadbury. Mission accomplished! It still looked nice. Alhamdulillah.

So time for pictures.

Okay i'm ready mama.

Aisyah First Visit to Zoo

>>  22 January 2015

We brought Aisyah to Zoo Negara last month. Initially we planned to bring Aisyah to zoo when she can walk. But we just cant wait to see her reaction when she see animal, so we bring her and just put her in the stroller. We don't own any forward facing soft structured baby carrier, so stroller was our best option.

Back then before we got married, we always went to zoo. I'm just that type of girl, I like going to zoo and museum. I've been to zoo in Melaka and Taiping. I also have visited KL Bird Park. That day we went quite early, it was around 8 am from our house, had our breakfast at nearest Mamak and reached zoo around 9 am.

That day, I think got company event at the Zoo. Treasure hunt I guess? Not sure. But that place was full with people with green shirt. It was Syabas company event if I am not mistaken.

So we entered the zoo and was ushered to photobooth. They captured two picture of us and that's it, we were ready to explore the zoo. My husband was so innocent. He thought that pictures were free. When exited, there's photo shop where we can select our picture and they will print it for us. My husband thought it was free. Haha.

We went to the left side from the Zoo entrance first. Oh yes, for the ticket we can choose whether to see Panda or not. We didn't choose to see Panda since we need to add RM20 for each ticket. It was quite expensive. RM20 just for Panda? Nope. There's plenty of interesting animal in the zoo other than Panda.

Ok time for pictures.

Ayah, Aisyah and deer

Aisyah posing so well with elephants

Mama, see that big tortoise. Actually the tortoise was a lot bigger than Aisyah. This picture don't do justice.

Is it kangaroo? Not sure hihi

Finally picture with mama
Suddenly got work to do. Can't write lengthy blog post. Bye people. Assalamualaikum.

Ooops before I really go, there were a lot of mosquitoes there. So don't forget to bring mosquitoes patch if you bring your baby. Mosquitoes bites left marks which are so difficult to go away. We were lucky because we had balance of mosquitoes patch from our reunion in Desa Balqis.

Okey a real goodbye.

Bye.

My New Routine

>>  23 December 2014

It is almost one month since I'm working with the new company. This time I'm working with bigger company compared to before. A lot of things have changed especially in administration part. Now I have timesheet system, department meeting, annual dinner and a lot more. I also meet many types of people. It is a very good opportunity to work here I must say. Okay enough with the introduction.

In this post, I just want to share how my routine has changed after I got this job. And of course, also the fact that my daughter is now a toddler. She just turned one on 26th November 2014. So she is very curious of things that happening around her, throw tantrum if we don't give her what she wants and  is very clingy to me. Apparently, separation anxiety is what happening to her. So kesian.

So below is my routine or maybe I can say my dream routine. Sometimes, it totally different from this. I guess with 1 year old toddler we just can't plan.

615am - Wakes up, pray, read Quran
625am - Prepare my daughter's stuff (i.e. heat up her food, pack her lunch bag, pack her milk, pack my pump and storage bottle)
640am - Drink oat+milk
645am - Take bath
655am - Breastfeed my daughter
710am - Get dressed
725am - Go out from the house
735am - Send my daughter to babysitter's house and drive off to work

830am-530pm-Work

530pm - Rush back home
630pm - Pick up my daughter at babysitter's house
640pm - Reach home, turn on the TV for my daughter so she will be distracted while I'm doing some work, take out everything from my daughter's beg (dirty clothes into the washing machine, lunch bag and milk), take out frozen chicken from freezer
650pm - Breastfeed my daughter
705pm - Take bath, pray, read Quran
730pm - On the washing machine, pack my daughter's clothes to nursery
745pm - Prepare item for my daughter's lunch
750pm - Dinner time for my daughter (usually she will take 0.5 hour to finish her food)
800pm - Cook my daughter's lunch for tomorrow (while I cook, I feed her dinner too. And her food is usually porridge)
830pm - Done cooking. Let the food get cold a bit. Play with my daughter.
900pm - Stores my daughter's lunch in the fridge and wash the pot. My husband comes home and bring dinner.
915pm - Bring my daughter to sleep
1015pm - Yey she finally sleep. Iron clothes for tomorrow and fold the clothes
1115pm - Pray and go to sleep

My husband washes my daughter's bottle and hang the washed clothes. Even he helps me a bit, I still feel so tired at the end of the day. So usually while I put my daughter to sleep, I sleep too.

I always wonder what happens if I have more kids? Only Allah knows. (T_T)

I think I am so lucky to have my husband helping me with some chores. But sometimes, he will make mess in the house too. He likes to put things everywhere. They are such an eyesore and can really make me explode. Sigh.

I hope everyday will be better than yesterday. I also hope I don't get tension so easily and loss my cool. Yesterday I scolded my daughter because she kept moving while i changed her diaper. After I scolded her, she didn't move. Looks like she already understand. I really need to be careful with my action after this. I feel so regret of what happen yesterday (T_T).

O Allah, please easy my journey.

Till then, Assalamualaikum

Aisyah's Nursing Strike

>>  16 October 2014

Nursing strike can happen for many reason. Oh in case you don't know, nursing strike is when your baby refuses to direct latch or better word to explain, refuse to drink from your boobs. Sigh.

Aisyah is in the midst of nursing strike now. She got fever 5 days ago, she direct latch from me but only in small quantity. However once her fever was over the next day, she slowly started to refuse direct latch. She only drink once from me. So we gave her bottle. And the following day it got worst, she didn't want to direct latch at all. At all!

Her mood was so terrible. She got problem to go to sleep too because usually she slept while nursing. I guess she was frustrated too because  she couldn't drink from me. When she felt sleepy, she will scream and crying until her face went red. So I need to carry her around the house until she slept. Just like the old time when she was just born. But more challenging since she is now 8.6 kg. She also didn't want her dad to carry her. She only wanted me. ME.

(T_T)

I know, so challenging.

She also woke up at night to drink but since she couldn't direct latch, she felt so frustrated and cried loudly. It was so easy before, I just had to open my blouse and nurse her. Now my husband also need to wake up to warm the milk while I calmed her down. Yes, nursing strike causes stress to the whole household.

We were quite panic, we thought of bringing her to the pediatrician but on the way to pediatrician, she suddenly wanted to drink! OMG! I truly felt like a miracle there. I guess it is true nursing strike baby will drink if in moving car. When I came home that day, I tried to nursing her, she seemed unwillingly but still drank it. After 5 minutes, she started to feel restless and seem mad? Wuu. So I tried to give her my other boob. Again, she seemed unwilling. So I make sure the milk flowed first and gave her again. Yey she wanted it. This time around she drank the milk for about 10 minutes. Alhamdulillah.

That night I tried to nurse her again. But she didn't want at all. She even turned her face to the other side. Erk. So much hate for nenen?

So today, I can no longer take it. I brought her to the clinic near my house. Apparently she has ulcer but it is very small. The doctor said she is recovering and gave to me a medicine called Prelone Syrup which can reduce the inflammation. She also advised me to always give her nenen but never force. If the baby doesn't want, its okay but never give up.

I felt a bit relieve now knowing what was the reason she didn't want to nurse from me.

Kindly understand the act of drinking from bottle and direct latch from mom is very different. Baby need to work harder when drinking from mom. This is to help strengthen baby's jaw.

I really hope once her ulcer gone, she will want to drink from me like usual before. I really miss my baby, the second day she didn't want direct latch from me, I felt a bit like loss of attachment. It felt so terrible. Sigh.

Frozen dress gift from Nenek. She likes to dance now. So cute. Hee.

Her favorite show, Hi-5.
Okay till then, Assalamualaikum.

My Labor Experience

>>  18 July 2014

I gave birth to my lovely daughter on 26 November 2013. My labor was quite easy than other people's experience I think, thank you ya Allah. I had blood show at 10 am, at that time the pain was not that much. It just a minor waist  pain like when you gonna get period. I was quite calm that time since people said usually first baby you will take like one day of contraction before labor.

But my mom was panic. She went to work that day (yes, I already at my hometown). So during afternoon, she went back and sent me to hospital. I registered with the hospital while my mom parked the car. She also brought my labor beg. Pftt my labor beg was so heavy. I put unnecessary things inside it like clothes. Yes, no need clothes people. At government hospital, they provide you with pink suit. So its easy, no need to wash your clothes afterwards. Hehe.

Okay back to the story. I said to the doctor I already had blood show. The doctor checked the dilation and it was 2 cm. She also asked me what is the gap between my contraction. I didn't even know I had contraction! So she touched my stomach and taught me what is contraction. Whenever I felt pain at my stomach that is contraction apparently. Hehe.

Since everything was settled, they asked me to wait at the labor room to perform contraction stress test (CST) on me. It was from 1pm until 2pm. I was so hungry, I didn't eat my lunch yet. Sob sob. From what I knew, the doctors said my contraction seem convincing. I didn't know what it meant. Haha. So after the CST, they sent me to the ward. In the ward, they were a lot of pregnant lady waiting for delivery. Wow. I was so hungry that time. Suddenly my mom came and brought nasi goreng for me. Her face was so worried. That time my contraction got stronger. I ate only a small portion of the nasi goreng and my mom had to go home to pray and settle something.

I lay down on the hospital bed and waiting for my turn. The ward nurse came to my bed and gave me pink suit for me to change. So I changed my outfit and just wait. It was 330 pm that time. While waiting I ate again another portion of the nasi goreng. Just to ensure I have enough energy to deliver.

My contraction got stronger time by time. I've been reading that drinking Virgin Coconut Oil (VCO) can help your delivery, so I drank a bit. Then the nurse came with form for me to sign. My contraction was so bad I couldn't read what was on the form. I just signed quickly so that the nurse will go away quickly. She also asked me whether I took any minyak selusuh and said to me minyak selusuh is not good bla bla. I just shake my head signalling I didn't take any. Haha sorry nurse. I was so in pain to explain.

People said VCO is like minyak selusuh too. Well I don't know. I just took 3 drops only.

I saw another lady waiting for delivery in front of my bed walking back and forth so calmly. Me on another hand couldn't even breathe properly. I kept changing my position. Sometimes I lay down, sometimes I sat, sometimes I walked. Sometimes I lay aside and breathed using my mouth (people said this can help reduce your contraction, YES it helped a bit).

The contraction got stronger and stronger. I couldn't even checked my phone. My husband ( my husband was still at work in KL fighting with the draftsmen, haha) and my girlfriends messaged me. I just replied to them shortly. The contraction was so strong it shook my whole body.

Suddenly at 515pm, my water broke! So I pressed the help button to call for nurse. I kept on pressing the button since the first press wasn't strong enough. The nurse came and she brought me to small room. The doctor checked my dilation and it was already 6 cm. Wow. So fast. Alhamdulillah.

The nurse then asked me to sit on the wheelchair to bring me to the labor room. My second visit to the labor room and this time for real labor. Gulp. Well I was so in pain that I couldn't think properly. I didn't even feel scared. Yes, not scared people.

So there I was laying on the bed in the labor room while sucking the gas. This gas apparently can help reduce the contraction pain. In my case, it didn't. I was closing my eyes the whole time and couldn't do anything. In the labor room, doctor also checked my dilation just to ensure whether the ward people got it right. But yeah, no checking when the contraction came because it was so painful.

At 6pm, the doctor checked my dilation again and its already full. Its 10 cm. Now is the right time to push. I kept on pushing and pushing with my eyes closed. Pftt. I didn't know why I was like that. Apparently I didn't know the right way to breathe and push. But the nurses kept persuaded me and taught me. One nurse even nagged to me. I was so in pain, I didn't even care. I just want to deliver quickly. They also asked me whether I wanted episiotomy or not. I said no I didn't want. But they gave it anyway. Haha.

So I kept pushing and pushing and suddenly I got the rhythm right. Alhamdulillah. Finally I managed to deliver my baby. I felt so relieved when my baby already out. I didn't even feel the pain when they stitched my episiotomy wound. The staff nurse was very good. She was the one who taught the doctor how to properly stitch my wound. She even pushed out the remaining blood inside my womb.

However, I couldn't hug my baby. They didn't put my baby on my chest. They just show her to me. That's all. Pftt.

After the stitching done, they put me on bed in front of the counter. Haha. Not only me. Other people who delivered too. Don't know why. After they finished checking my baby, they put her beside me and asked me to breastfeed her. It felt so amazing when my baby first sucked her milk. Alhamdulillah. She naturally knew how to suck her milk.

Then we went to the ward. My mom already waiting for me there. My husband? Still on his way. Haha. It was 8pm that time.  15 minutes after that, my husband arrived and he whispered azan to my baby's ears.

Alhamdulillah.

Everything went smoothly. During my pregnancy, everyday I prayed that both me and baby will be safe and she will be a healthy baby. Alhamdulillah praise to Allah who granted it.

I also asked forgiveness from my husband everyday during the last trimester of my pregnancy.

Thank you Allah.
