Review : Hantaran

>>  01 February 2013

My hantarans to my husband were really simple. Sometimes I regret I DIY the hantarans like that. But what to do, what done is done and I can't get married again. lol.

the cake was an inspiration from this post . My friends in email said No 1 was the winner so I chose it. The cake maker seemed unable to make it exactly look like that. Pftt.

My hantarans were utterly simple right? I should add a lot of flowers and use boxes for some of the items.

(T_T). Its too late to regret.

But I love looking at this hantarans when they were gathered like this. They looked so uniform and they just gave the right color I wanted.

So what did I use for the hantarans decoration? ( I know they were too simple but just let me state them here).

1. For the bantal hantaran,
- bantal shape polisterin (RM5/pc. Expensive I know. I bought 10 pcs)
- span (RM0.80/pc. I bought 10 pcs)
- tassle (RM1.30/2 pcs. Bought 20 packs)
- that metal thing at the edge of the bantal (RM20/30 pcs/pack. I bought 2 packs)
- satin fabric to wrap the bantal (RM7/meter. I bought around 3 meters)

2. The flowers
I don't remember the price. But it was still quit expensive to me. I bought foam flowers, varieties of cheap artificial flowers, and hydrangea artificial flowers which I bought at Kaison.

3. White box
Costs RM30/box. I bought them at CT Handicraft, Shah Alam.

4. Green flower span which you can find it everywhere.

5. The dangling silver things which suppose to add more sparkles to my hantarans and they're not cost around RM20/roll.

6. Ribbons and the beads.

My advice to all bride out there, please go all out for your hantarans. I truly regretted I did my hantarans like these. This is the time when we are suppose to challenge our creativity and have fun with our DIY.

So good luck!

Till then. Assalamuaalaikum.

Review : Photobooth

>>  20 December 2012

My photobooth was pretty simple. I just had panel which decorated with our initials, a table to put the props, white picket fence to cover the bottom of the panel, flowers in the vase to decorate the table and green leaves ball-shape situated at the bottom right of the panel.

And of course a signage showing photobooth.

I was super happy when I saw a lot of ppl taking pictures there. Really. Its like my effort doing the photobooth was appreciated. Thanks guys, I love you all.

To elaborate more on the photobooth props, I had around 15 props for my photobooth. I did 10 of them and the other 5 I bought from Paper Lantern N' Boxes. Reason? Because I found it difficult to cut the the props like the bunny ears, the cat mustache and the specs. Really. I already printed them out and cut them from the papers and then pasted it onto hard paper. But when I wanted to cut them from the hard paper, it was too difficult and messy. So I stopped and straight away ordered from Paper Lantern N' Boxes. For 1 prop, it costed RM5. So for 5. it was RM25.

I think they are worth it because afterwards they were recycled during my husband's side of reception.

And about the panel I used, I rented it from the bridal boutique for RM150. The panel was big. It was 8 x 8 feet and to make sure it was sturdy, they secured the top of the panel with wires. So yeah for their effort and being so kind to me, I totally have no complain with the price and appreciate what they did.

So my advice to others who want to do photobooth for your wedding, just go with the simple one. Make sure you have backdrop, funky props and of course fun people.

Good luck with your preparation.

Till then. Assalamualaikum.

Review : Dais at Bride's

>>  18 December 2012

I love my dais to bits! Really. D'Enai team did such a great job. The owner, Rony really did what I envisioned. In fact, he brought it to the next level. Thank you guys.

Everything was white just like I wanted. I love the purple color lighting. My photog liked it too!

I love the fact we looked pure here

Oh I love this picture a lot!
The downside? My house is small. So mostly we couldn't take the full picture of the dais. Pftt.

Example:

Anyway, I still love the dais.

I highly recommend D'Enai to do your dream dais.

Goodluck.

Till then. Assalamualaikum.

Groom's Reception Makeup Review

>>  14 December 2012

Sorry I started the review of my wedding from the groom's side first. I am still mad of what the mak andam did to me that I have to let it out on my blog here. The mak andam was a freelance makeup artist for Lumiere Concept (Melaka) by the way.

We informed them we gonna marched to groom's house around 1 pm. And the mak andam promised to arrive at 1030am. I was okay with that because the duration of 2 hours and 30 minutes is perfectly nice for makeup session.

But what happened was she arrived at 1130am. So there's only 1 hour and 30 minutes left for makeup session. But I was still okay and maintain. I didn't feel mad YET. When she arrived, she asked me to take whudu' and started the makeup.

Throughout the makeup session, people kept calling her and she picked it up! She did my makeup while talking on the phone! How rude. She also applied foundation on my face harshly and the brush she used was like a broom. Yes. So harsh. She even let her nails touched my skin. Hello? Couldn't you see my skin is sensitive? I even had to ask her to move her nails out of my face. Usually people will avoid touching the bride's skin by using sponge but she didn't! Rude and unprofessional.

That was not the worst part.

Heh.

The worst part was when she applied false eyelashes on both upper and bottom of my eyes. She put a lot of glue that I couldn't open my eyes. Really. When I asked her, she said never mind it will dry after this and it would be nicely attach together. So I waited after she finished applying eyeshadow. But the glue was still there! I couldn't open my eyes. She then separate the glue with her tools. It was quite scary okay. Eyes are very important.

the red line is the glue. connecting between upper and bottom of my eyes. Scarry!
Before she finished, I had the opportunity to look at the mirror and was so shocked to see the lip color. It was pale pink (not nude pink) and really really made my teeth look extra yellow. So I asked her to change the color into color that didn't make my teeth looked so yellow. And she chose a not so subtle pink. Grrrr.

Did I need to tell everything specifically? *Mad*

Then after 40 minutes of the makeup session, she finished! I was so shocked. So fast?

And I quickly went to mirror and kept looking at my eyes. How ugly! She used a turqoise color eyeshadow. So old fashion! I was so dissapointed that I straight away said I didn't like it and asked her to change into chocolate color.

And her assistant asked me to choose myself what color I want. I mean seriously? I'm not a makeup artis. How on earth do I know how to blend eyeshadow. I said like this. "Macam mana saya nak tahu, saya tak tahu blend".

She then continued changing the eyeshadow color. Since her eye makeup made my eyes looked so big, I asked her to remove the bottom false eyelashes. At first she disagree but after a while, she finally came to agree with me. She removed it.

Then I looked at the mirror again.

I looked older than my age!

The eyeliner at the bottom was so thick that it aged me. So I asked her to rectify it.

She agreed but first I need to change into my outfit. After finished wearing the veils, I asked her to rectify the eyeliner too. It was soooo messy I said. She rectified it but I still felt unsatisfied. Something was off and I didn't know what was it.

Before I managed to say anything, she left! Without telling me! I still had a lot of things to say (to rectify the makeup of course).

Rating? 0.1/5. Harsh rating? It's my wedding and she really ruined my mood for the day.

I didn't know what type of brand she used but my face became oily very very fast and the foundation she used was 1 tone darker from my real shade. It made my face looked darker and not glowy.

Erhh. So mad thinking about it.

dark and no shading at the end of my nose

no shading for my cheeks

is this how you apply eyeliner and eyelashes? So terrible.

Oily. My husband also said the makeup was so thick. It did made me felt more down.

This was how I looked like at bride's reception.

Soft and sweet
I really hope Lumiere will find a better freelance make up artist after this. The mak andam should be professional and should really be up to date to current makeup style. I was so frustrated and disappointed. Yes I said all of it to the mak andam.

Thank you for ruining my day.

Till then. Assalamualaikum.
