5 mins break

>>  12 June 2012

I'm taking 5 mins break from work. Doing the same thing for the past few days make me nausea. Oh anyway, I will get engaged on this Saturday. Just that I'm not feeling excited. I was supposed to feel excited. I assumed it is due to everything was already settled. I just need to wait for the day.

Having said that, even my preparation for the engagement was quite early, but there are still pending item. Item for the last minute.

The tepak sirih which don't know where to get it and since I'm far from home, make it more difficult
To buy the fruits for the hantaran
To buy the chocolates (which of course I couldn't get the hersheys nugget)
To follow up with vendors (for cupcakes, makeup, stage, catering)
To get the bakul hantaran from the girlfriend
To decorate the dais
To decorate the candy buffet
To feel sad because my sister couldn't come (T_T)

Okey the last one can't be fixed. I'm getting sad.

Bye.

Assalamualaikum.

wall decoration for dais

>>  30 March 2012

I forget that I have to get a new roadtax in this May. So because of that, some of my budget for the engagement in this June will be affected because it takes like RM1000++ for the roadtax. Still I want to have the engagement like I want but seriously need to cut some budget. Need to be more wise on my spending and only buy necessary items. Well if you refer to my previous post, you should know that I decided to have DIY dais.

Apart from need to save some money, I also cannot nail anything on my mom's wall. So come out with this beautiful wall decoration which I steal from ppl's blog (haha):

the wall decoration is made from paper tissue and paper medallion(for the paper fan)

she cut paper and make the paper shape like icecream cone and glue it to white carboard

she use paper lantern and paper tissue (no need to open the paper lantern, straight away paste it onto wall)

I seriously love the wall decoration on the 1st picture. I love the color especially. Need to start doing it now and ask permission from my mom to stick those papers on her wall. Hehe. By the way refer to the watermark in case if you want to know how they do it.

Below is the link for tutorial on how to do the decoration:
Paper fan
Tissue Flower

Wish me luck.

Till then. Assalamualaikum.

mini dais

>>  29 March 2012

For engagement is not necessary to have dais, in fact in wedding also is not necessary. It just depends on what you want. Initially I don't want any dais for my engagement later but I keep spending my free time browsing bride to be blog and now I've been tempted. Before this all I want when the sarung cincin ceremony is the solemnization pillow. The round white pillow which ppl call it ottoman pillow. I already booked it from a bridal boutique by the way. Hee. Since I already booked the pillow and my budget is quite tight so I unable to locate any more budget for dais from outside vendor. So what to do? DIY of course. But it is not easy ppl. It needs a lot of effort and for sure money.

I googled mini dais or mini pelamin for my inspiration. Take a look at below pictures. Oh by the way, I've talked to my mom and she said cannot nail anything on her wall. Haihhh. So need to come out with new idea. Have a look at below mini dais inspiration:

my ottoman pillow is like this. the different is on the button. mine is the diamond one (not really diamond)

how awesome is this? just use the mattress and arrange the cushion pillow nicely

this is perfect for me because it is doable :) don't need to nail anything just use the curtain at the sliding door

okay this doesn't need any curtain. simple and sweet!

i want my dais to have this tone of color which i think impossible so I guess just keep it for wedding later *adore the tissue flower*

this is also doable! yey.

hihi. no need to nail on the wall also. awesome.

see what's important is the lighting!
So what are the things I need for the mini dais DIY? From my rough observation, the most important things are:

  • lighting effect (need to have spotlight lamp. will take idea from here)
  • white wool carpet
  • a lot of flowers
  • items that able to make the dais sparkle. it could be from the glass vase, the chandelier or any deco item.
I guess for mine I won't have the platform because so lazy to rent it. It is sufficient to buy the wool carpet or something similar to it because from my survey, the wool carpet cost around RM200 for the smallest one.
Now need to find wool fabric.

Till then. Assalamualaikum.

when what you plan doesn't go as planned

>>  22 March 2012

I was so excited for this certain event on this Saturday. Already planned what to wear how I will make up myself and I will make sure I am well rested on that day before the event. But suddenly I received a message saying the event is cancelled. Ahhh. Sad sad because it is a good thing that signifies I am one step closer and to think that it is somehow means something bad gonna happen. Erk. No no. Definitely no.

Nevermind everything happens for reason. Need to remind myself to keep believe in the positive.

I wanted to try my new camera but my mom also want to enterframe. Looking at this picture makes me laugh. I'm going back to Manjung this week :)

I like to browse how ppl do the hantaran. These are some of my favorites. To the owner whom I steal this picture sorry and thank you. :p

I seriously love this dangling tray. Want to do like this for the engagement hee.

beading's inspiration

>>  18 March 2012

OMG. I freakin' love beadings donned on this baju kurung. I wish I can send my engagement baju kurung to get like this kind of beading but it costs around RM250 for the collar and the sleeves. Since my engagement will be a small engagement so I'm not gonna waste my money towards my baju. I'm gonna save it for my wedding later. Hee. But who knows, I might change my mind. LOL

If you wish to have something like this, you can go to beadmeplease.my. The owner did awesome awesome works!
But my engagement baju kurung will have similar pearl colors, peach and pink since my baju kurung is yellow pastel in color. Thinking about all this always gets me excited. I really can't wait to sew the pearls eventhough my engagement is 3 months away ;p. Now need to find the pink pearl and some swarozki (I'm so lazy to search the exact spelling). Hee hee.

Till then. Assalamualaikum.
