Review : Hantaran

>>  01 February 2013

My hantarans to my husband were really simple. Sometimes I regret I DIY the hantarans like that. But what to do, what done is done and I can't get married again. lol.

the cake was an inspiration from this post . My friends in email said No 1 was the winner so I chose it. The cake maker seemed unable to make it exactly look like that. Pftt.

My hantarans were utterly simple right? I should add a lot of flowers and use boxes for some of the items.

(T_T). Its too late to regret.

But I love looking at this hantarans when they were gathered like this. They looked so uniform and they just gave the right color I wanted.

So what did I use for the hantarans decoration? ( I know they were too simple but just let me state them here).

1. For the bantal hantaran,
- bantal shape polisterin (RM5/pc. Expensive I know. I bought 10 pcs)
- span (RM0.80/pc. I bought 10 pcs)
- tassle (RM1.30/2 pcs. Bought 20 packs)
- that metal thing at the edge of the bantal (RM20/30 pcs/pack. I bought 2 packs)
- satin fabric to wrap the bantal (RM7/meter. I bought around 3 meters)

2. The flowers
I don't remember the price. But it was still quit expensive to me. I bought foam flowers, varieties of cheap artificial flowers, and hydrangea artificial flowers which I bought at Kaison.

3. White box
Costs RM30/box. I bought them at CT Handicraft, Shah Alam.

4. Green flower span which you can find it everywhere.

5. The dangling silver things which suppose to add more sparkles to my hantarans and they're not cost around RM20/roll.

6. Ribbons and the beads.

My advice to all bride out there, please go all out for your hantarans. I truly regretted I did my hantarans like these. This is the time when we are suppose to challenge our creativity and have fun with our DIY.

So good luck!

Till then. Assalamuaalaikum.

My Mixed Feeling Weekend

>>  15 July 2012

I think my life is a bit upside down now.

First, health.

For this week only, I'd eat maggi twice which was definitely not good. I was so tempted with the mee texture and felt wanting to eat something spicy, so I just ate it. I don't know about other ppl but for myself, maggi gave me quite an impact. Or should I say impacts. When I woke up in the morning, my face bloated and my eyes became like panda. So disturbing. My skin also become dry. You know when sensitve skin become dry? We get pimples. In all different places. For my case, at my chin and nose. Nose is definitely a no-no! Erhh.

Need to stop eating maggi. So close. Haha.

Second, financial.

For my wedding, everything I need to use my own money. Sometimes I feel sad about how other ppl got financial support from their parent but not me. I was so jealous when I read blogger's blog telling how their parent bought for them this and that. So jealous and stress and sad that I was planning to get my wedding postponed. I know I should save a lit bit in some areas. I was trying my best but I also want my dream wedding. Until I read about a blog about how she saved, ikat perut, did a lot of DIY, tried to get the best price as much as she could and painted her own bedroom! It was so inspirational. After I read a couple of her posts, then I know she is just like me, lost her dad. Her mom is a single mom. I felt disappointed on myself. I should understand this sooner.

Sorry mama for my bad thought. I will try to not repeat it. InsyaAllah.

Third, self-manage.

I was so messy these days. Really. I haven't clean my room for weeks! By that I mean I didn't get it broomed. My room got dusty really fast that I need to at least broom it once a week. So mengada.

Other than that, I went to work so late! Considering I am still under probation, I came to work at 9.05am. Everyday. So not good. You know why I was late? I woke up at 745am or 8am. Then I rinsed my clothes, hanged them, ironed my clothes, bathed, applied some moisturizer, bb cream, eyeliner and lipbalm and by then, it was 835am. Need to go through the jam and arrived at work at 9.05am. Really don't know when I will get myself confirmed if like this. Haih.

And of course. I wasted my money on unnecessary things. You know how food can really make your wallet torn? I know. By buying unnecessary food. Food like chocolates, McD, Pizza Hut, carbonated drinks, buying more than what we need and the list goes on. I also wasted the money on watching 3D movie. It was extra RM8 you know.

I also bathed around 10pm-1100pm. And made full use of my dirty clothes basket. Not good not good.

Really need to wake up now. Pronto!

Fourth, wedding progress.

1) Haven't send my solemnization fabric to tailor. Stress. Tailor don't want it. Need to send it after puasa.
2) Haven't book the wedding card. Erh. Still can I think if after puasa.
3) Haven't buy the reception fabric. OH MY GOD!
4) Haven't book the photographer. Stress.

Oh August, please come quickly. I need you.

Okay.
Enough with the mixed feeling.

Now pictures of what I was doing during this weekend.

love this flower! (excuse the shoes)
So I went to Kedai Bunga Vivian in Chow Kit. It was my first time going to Chow Kit! Saturday is definitely not a good day for a first timer. Chow Kit was so packed and I sincerely thought I was in different state. Not Kuala Lumpur. Culture shock there. Kedai Bunga Vivian was so small. I thought it was so big because bloggers were talking about it. Nope its not. The price is quite cheap considering in KL but in Manjung Perak I can find way cheaper price. Example the FM Creation box, Kedai Bunga Vivian is selling it at 0.33/pc but in Kedai Borong Sinaran Manjung, they sell it at 0.29/pc.

I bought this at a shop near my rent house. I fought with my fiance and to release tension, I went to Kedai Jahit. Hee. Typical woman. Need shopping to release stress. This was RM20 for 1 roll.
I went to Pameran Pengantin today! To search for wedding card.
Got hooked with 1 booth. There was 1 promotion. For no fold card, 65 cents/each for 1000 pcs. Can mix bride and groom with different design! My fiance liked this but me not so much. I wanted the card that can be folded. It was 0.75 cents/each for 1000 pcs. My fiance didn't like it pulak. At the end, we didn't booked any. Sigh
our mission was not successful. so we went to CT Handicraft in Seksyen 19 Shah Alam. The price was quite reasonable, I think. This paper bag was RM1. I like a plain beg with no Thank You so this is a no-no for me.

then I bought this pillow-lie polisterin. This is expensive. RM5 each. I bought 10, so it was RM50.

I also bought this satin fabric to cover the polisterin. I bought it at Nagoya. RM7/meter x 2. I know. I can get it cheaper actually.
So many typing. Need to get a good rest now.

Goodnite my blog.

Till then. Assalamualaikum.

Review: The Hantaran

>>  19 June 2012

My hantaran was done by my friend, Omay. I think she did a superb work! It was what I had in my mind. In fact, she made it a lot prettier. Thanks a bunch Omay!

The decoration items for the hantaran was bought like 3 months ago. Mostly from Nilai 3. Being falling in love with the soap flower when I first saw it. Using the soap flowers made the hantaran more lively and we certainly didn't need a lot of the flowers.

Okey less word more pictures.

I rent the tepak sireh from a bridal boutique near my house. Assistant there was quite a snob and the tepak sireh was not even full. pftt

cupcake i ordered from ANR Delights Manjung. I gave her the design and she succesfully made it for me! the 3-tier cupcake stand i bought from Romantika for RM29

can you see the grapes weren't that fresh? had no choice. but really love using only 1 color for fruits.

i gave ferroro rocher and hershey's kisses chocolates. the glass container made the hantaran more exclusive kan? heh. just bought them for RM6.90 each at Semua House.

my fiance really love marshmellow so I bought it online since marshmellow sold in store doesn't have Halal certificate.

i love the sejadah! at first we want a black and white but couln't find one but was utterly satisfied with this! so pretty!

the cheese tart. my soo to be in law family loves it! good! can order more!
Till then. Assalamualaikum.

chocolate

>>  31 May 2012

I want to give hershey's nugget for the engagement hantaran later. Being falling in love with that chocolate when I was on flight to Bintulu the other day. The problem is from my house to airport is quite far and I know if I want to buy hershey's nugget with 340gm packaging would be expensive here in KL or Selangor.

So I surveyed if anyone have online service selling chocolate from Langkawi and I found it! Here is his facebook. I was utterly happy until I noticed in his status he will close his service until August and the last day of booking was just 2 days ago. I was just 2 days late!

Oh yeah I'm not sure whether he is he or she.

this chocolate.

See the price they sell in Langkawi? ONLY RM12! I want it. So badly.

Can anybody in Langkawi buy it for me? I want 4 packets. I seriously don't want to buy it at Candylicious in KLCC. So not worth it.

Please fly me to Langkawi please.

Till then. Assalamualaikum.

shopping in nilai3

>>  06 April 2012

Hihi. So I spent my last weekend at Nilai3. What did I do? Shopping items for my engagement surely. My girlfriends and I arrived at Nilai3 around 2pm like that and finish shopping at 7pm! Woahh! But of course we stopped for pray 1 hour like that. Seriously shopping in Nilai3 can make you crazy. There were a lot of stuff but I don't think the prices were more cheaper. It just that some stuff were cheaper and some were reasonable I guess. I spent around RM330 on that day. Hee. And yeah I also went to Fah Lean Floral Trading in Balakong. Recommended by B2B blog. There were a lot of flowers but not all are cheap. I just bought flowers which got offer like buy 4 for RM10 only. Hee. Well let's see how I spent my RM330:

i bought this flowers at Fah Lean Floral Trading. 4 bunches for RM10. I bought 20 bunches.

i bought this cushion in Nilai3. RM5 per cushion. I bought 4.

this grass-like ball is RM15 each

the foam flower which I like so much! it cost RM8.90 for a bunch. 1 bunch has 10 flowers. I buy this at VR star.

double side tape

wire to tie the flower

shredded paper. i buy it at ZC Sdn Bhd for RM15.90. its expensive I know.

simple satin yellow ribbon

8 inch polisterin.

glass bowl RM15
my wheely basket. I bought this for RM20 each. before offer was RM22.bought this at ZC Sdn Bhd.

It depends on individual whether they like to survey first and buy the item at place that offers the cheapest or just buy it straight away when they see it. As for me I prefer to get the info on where is the cheapest place to buy item for wedding/ engagement from B2B blog, go to the store and straight away buy it. I seriously think you have to consider the cost of fuel and toll. It is the cost that you don't realize but still it does affecting your budget. So when you go to the shop, make sure you buy all the item you want and avoid coming back to the place. Hihi.

Till then. Assalamualaikum.
