I'm a mom now

>>  08 December 2013

Its still feel surreal but I just gave birth last Tuesday 26th November 2013. The day after I wrote previous post. Haha.

A lot of new experiences had happened in between. The contraction, the labor story, night at the hospital, my baby admitted to ward, my baby got jaundice, not having enough breast milk, waking up every 2 hours at night, the breast pump experience, fear of getting the episiotomy stitch infected and a lot more.

I would love to write everything in detail just to make sure everything recorded.

But first, here my baby.

Introducing my baby girl, Aisyah Radhiah.

People said she looked exactly like me. Only my sister said she looked like my husband.  Cant be sure now. Still so early to determine her features follow who the most.

Okay got to go now.

Bye. Assalamualaikum.

More stories coming up later.

Preparation to Hospital

>>  25 November 2013

I just reached 38 weeks yesterday and I'm still pregnant. I hope I will give birth sometime this week. Haha.

Why I'm looking forward to give birth?

Because it feels like there's something pending in my life. Until I haven't give birth, I feel like I don't have purpose in life.

Because I started working from home last 2 weeks. And it felt like its forever I've been working from home. Oh yes, I requested working from home since I keep having that headache where I feel inbalance.

Having said that, I haven't prepare my hospital beg yet. Only baby part is ready. Mine not at all. I just pack a few items and there are still a lot of pending items. Only yesterday I bought the toiletries, socks, slipper and tissue.  I haven't pack my laundry plastic, instant hijab, hot oil, kurma (to give energy), mug and fork and spoon. Sigh. So lazy!

Oh yes, I plan to give birth in government hospital in my hometown. I hope everything will go smoothly on the day I give birth and both baby and me are safe. Amin.

These were what I brought back to my hometown.

The bag at the right is for the hospital. Only my stuffs are inside. Baby's stuff is in another bag.

Baby stuff. Seem a lot right? But actually not. The left box is for baby's toiletries, breast pumps, bottle and sterilizer while the right box stored baby's clothes, diapers, barut, bibs and handkerchief.

The black bag is for baby item for the hospital. What did I put inside the bag?

Baby's pillow, toiletries travel size, baby wipes, mittens, booties, bonnets, muslins, diapers, towel and clothes. I also prepare one paper bag to put baby stuff so that I can give to the nurse before my delivery.

I will try to finish packing my stuff today.

Bye people.

Wish me luck for my delivery.

The Chosen Breast Pump

>>  06 November 2013

If you read my previous post, I wanted to buy my electric breast pump after we get our bonus. But when we went to Mom & Baby Expo on 25th October at SACC last 2 weeks, the breast pump that I want had a very good offer. So after consultation and testing, we successfully purchased it!

Yey!

My chosen breast pump?

Spectra Cimilre M1 which we bough at the Spectra booth.

So what did I get when buying at the expo? Here:

1. Spectra Cimilre M1 Breast Pump with charger
2. Breast Shield Set (Premium)
3. Additional 1 Breast Shield Set for double pumping
4. Spectra Bottle
5. Spectra Cooler Set Kit with Cooler bag, 5 storage bottles and 2 Ice Packs
6. Travel bag to store the breast pump and cooler set kit (it fits the breast pump and the cooler set bag nicely)

The total? RM568! Hihi. Soo much cheaper than Medela FS. Alhamdulillah.

The best part is the warranty will start after I give birth. In case if there's something wrong with my pump i.e. the motor does not work, what I need to do is attach my baby's birth certificate with the warranty card and then I can go to their headquarter's office in Subang Jaya to fix it.

If there is problem with other part of the pump, usually we cannot claim. We have to buy the part from the HQ office. Which of course I hope I won't have any problem with any part of the pump but if I do, I hope the part will not be that expensive.

This pump only weighs about 500 g and very silent compared to other breast pump with different brand. It also comes with built in battery where before the initial use, it needed to be charged for 8 hours.

Regarding the simulation massage, suction and how many hours we need to charge the battery and how long the battery can last, I can't comment now since I haven't use it yet.

I will review in detail how this pump works after I use it.

Okay that's all.

Good luck people.

Assalamualaikum.

My Chosen Confinement Set

>>  03 November 2013

I've been searching the suitable confinement set  for me for quite sometimes. At first I just wanted to follow my other pregnant friends to just buy Set Bersalin Anugerah but after some google, I found out that it is better if we just buy item that we will definitely use. In Set Bersalin Anugerah, it includes Minuman Kesihatan Ubat Bijian Anugerah which I think I won't use it since I already plan to buy Shaklee Confinement Set for vitamin supplement. And no jamu for me please, hehe.

So I settled for other confinement set which is Tanamera. I bought the loose set only since from review, I read some of the item in the confinement set is not necessary and most people don't even use some of the items. The example of items that people don't normally use are Lavender Floral Water (RM36), Herbal Tea and Binder (since most people already have it). While Calming Herbal Paste (same purpose like Pilis) and Firming Herbal Paste (same purpose like Tapel) are quite essential, they can't be bought loosely, we have to buy it together with the whole set.

So my solution is to find other alternative that serves the same purpose (but of course cheaper!). For that I chose Sari Ayu products, Param, Pilis and Tapel Sari Ayu.

Here is the picture of my confinement set.

As mentioned, for inner body supplement, I chose Shaklee Confinement Set with the additional of breastfeeding set. Inside the set, there are B-Complex, Vitalea, Zinc Complex, Osteomatrix, Alfafa Complex (small), Chewable Vit C plus and ESP. Total cost for all this? RM354. My husband bought this set from his colleague.

For Tanamera set, I only chose a few of its items.

1. Feminine Herbal Wash RM26.50 (in loose set, there are only 12 sachets, compared to 14 sachets in the whole set of Tanamera Posnatal Set)
2. Herbal Bath RM26.50 (same as above, only 12 sachets)
3. Brown Formulation Body Soap RM15 (people said this soap can get rid of black marks and pigmentation around our neck, armpit etc.)
4. Herbal massage oil RM33 (this soap is made of virgin coconut oil, so if you see there is precipitation in the bottle, worry not, just soak it in hot water)
5. Cold Press Virgin coconut oil RM34 (this can act as selusuh, nearing the delivery (37 weeks and above), we can drink this one spoon day and night, and also apply it onto your perineum area to help reduce the tear during delivery). Insyaallah.

As for Sari Ayu, as mentioned above we bought the Param, Pilis and Tapel Sari Ayu. Why are all this so important? Pilis can reduce the headache (apply this onto your forehead), while Param can help in  blood circulation (apply this onto your whole body) and Tapel can help in firming your stomach (apply this onto your stomach  before you wear the binder). The cost for all this? RM45.

Total cost for outer body confinement items ? RM170! We got cheaper than the exact total price RM180 since we directly bought this loose set from the shop. What shop? Keperluan Ibu Berpantang shop. Which located inside the Giant Taman Permata, Hulu Klang. This shop is located in front of Avon. Sometimes, the owner is not around, so make sure you call first before you come to Giant. You can also find this shop in facebook, just type Keperluan Ibu Berpantang, where you can also buy online.

If you wonder, I don't buy the Boreh Body Scrub because it serves the same purpose with other body scrub (I guess). I will just replace the Boreh Body Scrub with much cheaper body scrub (i.e lulur). Haha.

Oh yeah, I already have binder. Two sets of binder, traditional and modern.

Okay, I think that's all about my chosen confinement set.

Wish me goodluck.

Assalamualaikum.

Weight Gain during Pregnancy

>>  08 October 2013

I gained a lot of weight during this pregnancy. Last checkup I gained triple from the recommended weight gain for pregnancy. Its scary. I know I will have a hard time to reduce this pregnancy fat once I give birth. But it was truly hard to maintain the weight. I didn't eat a lot of food, well I did eat a lot of carbohydrate. According to doctor, I have to reduce my carbo intake, only take plain rice (no nasi ayam or goreng), drink a lot of plain water (at least 8 glasses a day) and reduce sugar.

Well, I did what the doctor said. And yesterday (after a week), I measured again my weight and I loss around 1.5kg!

Wow!

I'm not sure whether the scale was wrong or what, but if its true, does it mean my diet works?

Hehe.

Okay here a little bit of my daily menu for last week.

Breakfast : Oat biscuits (I took 2 to 4 packets) with Hi Goat milk.
*But I have to admit last week there was once I ate nasi lemak. Hee.

Lunch : Plain rice (I reduced the quantity), chicken or fish, vegetables, fruits, plain water

430pm : Milo, 2 packet of oat biscuits

8pm : Varies (sometimes plain rice with chicken, sometimes bihun/nasi goreng, sometimes only bread), plain water

10pm : Fruits

My diet was like how normal people eat but sometimes I did craving for something sweet like chocolate or donut. I still ate them but I controlled my intake.

Ok that's all. Let's drink a lot of plain water!

Till then. Assalamualaikum.

Sunny Monday

>>  23 September 2013

For the past few days, the weather had been so hot. I always became sweaty especially during sleeping. Whenever I woke up, there will be sweat patch around my tshirt neck. Sometimes, I just wore my undergarment while sleeping. I really couldn't stand the heat.

Is it a hormon thing or is it because of the weather? There was no rain for one week already. Sigh.

Rain, please come, I need you!

Today, I will chop my hair and add additional fan in the bedroom. Hope the heat will subside a bit.

Bye people, lets pray the rain will come today!

Fashion for Pregnant Lady

>>  06 June 2013

My belly is growing bigger everyday and I certainly can't fit into most of my pants already. Even maxi skirt felt quite tight to my stomach. I had been wearing jeans during my 1st trimester and just last week I got lecture from my mom. She said I blocked the baby's growth. If she didn't mention that, I don't even realize! So the next day I quickly went to AEON to buy maternity pants. There were not much choice. I just managed to buy two. One was palazzo and another one was for working. They're certainly not enough! I NEED MORE!

As for now, I still wear jeans and my working pants. But I don't button them. In fact the zips are just half way. Hahaha. But still its quite difficult since I don't have so many long blouse. My outfits are so limited these days.

I also purchase one maxi dress, made from jersey material, since I hate chiffon because I need to iron it. But there isn't much choice. I'm still looking for more maxi dress with affordable price. With jersey or cotton material. No more than RM100 please. I don't think its worth it  (to my pocket at least). Haha.

Here, the maxi dress that I bought:

I bought this from www.poplook.com. Poplook has so many maxi dress but most of them  its either chiffon or I don't love the print.

I've been eyeing how Kim Kardashian styled herself during her pregnancy. A few of them are a do. Here Pregnant Lady Fashion Do by Kim Kardashian:

I love the color, salmon pink.

Minus the heel, this definitely a do. Jersey tshirt, stretchable legging and long chiffon cardigan to cover the bum.

Its cotton and its comfy!

I assume the dress was stretchable. If its not, then this definitely a don't!

A shift dress and sandal. Easy breezy!

Flip flop is comfortable for pregnant lady.

My favourite. She looked ethereal.
Kim mostly wore 1 peace dresses during her pregnancy. Maybe because her belly is quite big so anything that obstruct the belly will feel quite uncomfortable.

Okay I need to continue my mission in finding more comfortable outfits for my belly.

Good luck to all mommy to be! Be fashionable wherever you go (reminder to me).

Haha.

Till then. Assalamualaikum.

My 1st Trimester

>>  04 June 2013

I already pass my 1st trimester and it wasn't so sweet like other lucky people I know. I guess I got all the symptoms which what normal pregnant women got at their 1st trimester. Not that I'm complaining. Mine wasn't that difficult. Alhamdulillah. I can still sleep at night, I can still drink and eat, I wasn't admitted to hospital, I can still go to a few of friend's wedding, I don't get any bleeding and most important I can still pray to Allah s.w.t.

It just sometimes I just wish I can push myself to be stronger especially in the morning. I want to wake up feeling fresh and motivated to work. I really can't wait for this morning sickness to stop. For others maybe their morning sickness gone when they reach 3 months but not for me. I still have it but I can positively say it already reduced.

So for others who still going through their 1st trimester, some tips:

1. Always make sure you eat. 3 main meals / day and between them, have a snack/drink milo or oat.
2. Don't eat a lot of asam. People have been saying it can cause jaundice to your baby.
3. Drink plenty of warm water during day and less of it during night. Warm water can avoid you feeling thirsty. Nearing to sleep time, please try not to drink any water or you will always need to go to toilet.
4. Avoid food or drink that can cause gassy stomach like ice water, tea, broccoli etc.
5. If you feeling so sick, take nap! It does help. For me, I need to take nap 1 hour in the morning and 1 hour in the afternoon. Sometimes, I don't get the 1 hour but I guess 20 minutes is good too.
6. If you are like me having sensitive skin, please switch to other soft skincare. I got a terrible peeling skin below my mouth. It looked red and sore. And please don't use any makeup on it like compact powder or even BB cream. They make it worst.

Good luck to all mummy to be! (^_^)

Before I go, here my baby at 2 months.

Till then, Assalamualaikum.

Hi Blog!

>>  14 May 2013

Hahaha. Poor my blog. I had been ignoring it for more than a month! So sorry. I was too lazy and lost my mojo, I think.

So what I was doing this one month?

I went to a few of friend's wedding.

Bff's wedding in Kedah. She now already pregnant. Congrats Omay!

My good friend when I was studying in Taa'yah. Pic of bride and groom with me and hubby didn't turn out nice (by which I looked fat).

My goodfriend, Sya's wedding. Everything was so colorful. Superlove!

Hahaha! What's up with the face? This was Mar's wedding from the groom side.
If you notice, my face looked quite pale on few of the pictures. Not only that, I also looked fat. Nowadays, I feel too lazy to capture any picture anymore. But there's actually a good excuse for that.

I am pregnant!

Hihihi.

It has been 2 months and 2 weeks already.

Morning sickness? A lot. But not quite severe. Alhamdulillah. I am nearing to finish my trimester. I really can't wait. I want that pregnancy glow that people have been talking about.

And I also need to buy some new clothes because frankly I can't fit into a lot of my clothes anymore. I felt tortured.

Ok that's all. Bye. Assalamualaikum.
