engagement outfit progress

I've been spending my free time to sew my engagement outfit. Since my rented house now has tv, so I sewed a lot (I guess) while watching tv. Somehow I thanked the girl who cheated our money. If she didn't cheat, I assume we wouldn't buy the tv. The house is now lively because of the tv. Eh. See. How I deviate from my main point??

Well I just want to show what I sewed. (I know my friends reading my blog) So yeah this is 50% progress of my engagement outfit:

i actually progress a lot than this as of today. i already sew the hand part. hehewueu

I just hope ppl will compliment my work. Haha. Because I'm not the kind of  person who know how to sew and for the fact I sew the beads make me feel good about myself. It is something that I can tell my children.

''xxxx, waktu dulu ibu jahit sendiri baju tunang ibu. Tak guna mana2 designer pon. Berbekalkan kreativiti dan usaha, akhirnya ibu berjaya siapkan baju ibu dengan cantik. Ramai kwn2 puji.'' Hahaha. Dream much?

I bought the beads at Kedai Bunga dan Reben at Jalan Tar. There are a lot of choices for beads at the shop. A lot. Utterly happy when I was in there. Since I thought my outfit wouldn't be awesome by just having pearls, so last Sunday I bought the crystal (?) beads. I don't think it gives much different. Well just adding more spice to the oufit.

designing the patching lace

Reading back my old post reminds me how I mistakenly choose the wrong lace for the veil. Anyhow, when I put the lace and after a few browsing, turned out the lace wasn't so bad. And I succesfully finished my DIY veil. But now when I want to sew for my engagement outfit, the dissatisfaction feeling comes again. How I wish I bought a nicer lace that have the elegant touch. Wuwu.

I need to design where should I put the lace, how much the length and where should I put the fabric flower. I seriously adore the Syera Ayob engagement outfit and since I can't have the same design, I want to have the same length as hers (the one at the shoulder and chest). I keep browsing the one done by beadmeplease and pearlnity (google on your own if you want to know their website). And before I know it, the dissatisfaction and the regret feeling comes. Haih.

Notice they put the lace on the left shoulder? I just notice. Haha. Guess I need to open back what I sewed and buy swarovski bead and cream pearl. Can't wait. Wanna see the one that I draft again and again?

eday preparation

Such a long holiday. 4 days. Hehuww. I just came back from my hometown. Took 1 day emergency leave since one of my relative passed away. Al-fatihah to my relative grandmother . May her soul blessed by Allah s.w.t.

I spent my holiday mostly browsing and shopping for the engagement. I bought quite a few things during this holiday. For the diy dais and the hantaran.

I bought the candle lantern, ribbon, span flower, 2 additional hantaran basket, flower span (notice the former and latter are different), tissue paper and more flowers. I was sooo happy buying all these stuffs.The shops were so near to my house and the prices are more cheaper or at least same as the one I bought at Nilai and Fah Lean Floral at Balakong. Seriously hujan emas definitely di negeri sendiri. lol

My eday outfit also already done. Well, done for the tailor part at least. For my part, I need to patch some lace and beadings. I already draft a bit.

not sewn yet. i just put the lace and the fabric flower. i hope after sewing, it wont go so messy and still nicely put like this. 

candle lantern. one for RM21.80. i bought two at Kedai Warisan Sinar, Taman Samudera, Manjung. don't know whether the price is cheap or not, one thing I know if I want to rent it (if from somethingborrowedfrom nawal), for 1 candle lantern is RM10. Since she's staying in Putrajaya and I am in Subang, the fuel and toll cost can reach to RM50 (for pick up and return), so the total will be RM70. Pheww. Buying is more feasible.

excuse the messy bedsheet. all this cost RM10. bought at a shop BESIDE yun yun florist, Taman Samudera. The price is the same as Fah Lean Floral. In fact, there are more choices of flowers. Really. I just want to go again to the shop. 

my humble partial diy handbouqet. lol. seriously don't have any idea on how to make this flowers more beautiful. i think for engagement is quite okay. 

Okay enough with the update. Right now I really hope everything will go as planned since now my mom want to involve herself a lot in the engagement. She insisted on giving 7 hantaran  instead of 5 hantaran! (T_T) Mama, kakyang yang kena keluarkan duit. Wuwu.

engagement outfit

Work is not fun if you don't have any work. Like me, yesterday. Yesterday I just blogwalking bride to be blog and due to overflowing ideas, I feel dizzy. More dizzy than doing work. Hope that I get some work to do today.

Anyway last night I sleep late because thinking that my engagement outfit won't turn out like what I planned. Sob sob. I want it to turn out into something like this:

My fabric is yellow in color but but the patch lace I bought is gold! I made a mistake. I didn't realize using white lace can actually makes the outfit more exclusive. Sad sad. In fact I have a thing about color coordination and I don't think my theme later is according to the color theme that I want. Since my patch lace is gold I guess my outfit will become cream-ish gold-ish yellow. Dislike! I guess it will turn out like below picture. Except mine is yellow not cream, and the lace is not as much as that.

So what can I do to cover it? Need to reduce the lace? Sigh.
