Overnight in the Hospital After Deliver

>>  12 November 2014

My baby will turn 1 in 2 weeks and yet I want to write a post about my experience after delivering. Haha. Alright, after I delivered, I stayed at the hospital for one night since I delivered at 630 pm and I guessed it was a hospital procedure so that they can monitor both mom's and baby's condition.

I delivered in goverment hospital in Manjung and there was no private wing or such. Everyone was treated the same. Being a first time mommy, I was so scared. I didn't know how to handle baby and my mom wasn't in the hospital to accompany me. (Mind you, baby stayed with mom all the time). Of course my husband couldn't too. Men was not allowed. It was all on myself alone. It was so scary. But people around me were like that too. So independent but yeah they were not a first time mommy. So I kept an eye closely of what they were doing. Okay change baby diapers, cuddle baby, breastfeed baby, change pad, went to toilet to clean up yourself. But one thing I didn't know was I need to change my baby's clothes. She was still wrapped in towel okay. OMG. Whenever I think about it, I felt so sad. I just change my baby's clothes when the nurse came and it was 5 am. Imagine, my baby was born around 630 pm. Grr. My mom and husband should knew this. I just gave birth. People said when you gave birth, you tend to forget things.  It was a terrible experience for me to overnight in the hospital.

Other than that, we also need to get our own clean clothes at the counter. The counter was quite far and I just gave birth and I just got cut and stitched down there, so it was difficult to walk and I was still tired. No one told me about this, if they did, I will not give birth in government hospital in the first place. I guess I wasn't that strong. Hihi. Since I didn't have the energy to go to the counter, I just wore my own clean clothes. When the nurse came and ask, I just said I didn't have the energy to walk. Yeah, whatever.

I also didn't wear my socks. I was so blur, you know. I also didn't know how to wear kain so it kept loose, it was so annoying haha. I also didn't eat so much. It was not good alright, if you want to breastfeed your baby, you need to eat a lot.

Other than the above, everything else was quite okay. I thought overnight in the hospital will be so scary but it wasn't. Other patients were so busy went back and forth to toilet, looking for something in their bag, eat, breastfeed and a lot more.

At 6 am, the nurse came and said they need to check my stitched. Okay that time I already have some energy, so I walked to the room. Wah, this room is so cold! I was so scared when the nurse checked it. Because the thought to widely open my leg. Erk. But the examination was quite brief and I was so relieved when its over.

At 7 am, the doctor came to examine my blood pressure and also baby's condition. Everything was in good condition. Nothing to worry. He also explain about birth control, bla, bla. Oh come on. I just gave birth and I didn't sleep last night. I couldn't focus to what you were saying. It just at the end he asked me, so which birth control you want? I was so blur, I just said pil. Haha. Then he said if you choose pil, you should never forget to take it everyday. Okay whatever. I never take pil anyway, haha.

After the doctor finished examining, they took my baby to be bathed. They took all babies together and in the meantime they said I could take the time to take a bath myself. Oh come on, I was so tired I didn't have the energy to take a bath. And with the cold water in the bathroom. Nope! So I waited until my baby came. One by one babies came back to their mom. Eh, where's my baby. She was before that baby? My baby was the last. I didn't know why. Was it because I didn't clean her up a bit at night? I don't know.

After that, another doctor came and gave Hep B injection to my baby. She cried but only briefly. Such a strong baby. Hihi.

So I waited and waited wondering when can we discharge. My husband came in the morning too. He gave me food, it was bread if I'm not mistaken. Turned out my mom said I wasn't suppose to eat bread. Haha.

Most of the patients in my area discharged after lunch but not me. I forgot why. Oh yes, I guess it was due to the quantity of my pee was not enough. Erh, I should drink a lot or perhaps maybe I should just lie. Haha.

Then after the quantity of my pee was sufficient, the nurse came and said yes you can discharge at 5pm. Wah I was so excited, I took a bath, wore my go to home properly, make sure my baby is in good condition. Suddenly the nurse came to check my baby. She wanted to know whether my baby pee and poop normally. She checked the diapers but it was not wet. Only had poops. What??

Every half an hour they came to check but the diapers was still not wet. At 4 pm, one nurse came and brought my baby to the counter. I was so scared what they gonna do. Turned out, they put the wet tissue on my baby's flower. Played it there until she peed! Thank goodness.

Then we went home,

Hehe.

Such a long story.

Okay so what is the lesson learnt here?
1. Maternity pad is not good, so thick and doesn't have wings. Easily can get leak. Just use overnight pads with wing.
2. Remember to change pads every 2 hours.
3. Please please buy disposable panties. Don't waste your time and energy to wash your dirty panties.
3. Don't forget your socks and please wear it right after you deliver.
4. Wash your down there with salt water even after you deliver. Remember to bring salt.
5. Drink, drink, drink plenty of water.
6. Eat, eat, eat a lot.
7. Breastfeed your baby every 2 hours and not 4 hours.
8. Change your baby's clothes, don't let the baby just wrapped in towel. Haihh.
9. Please take bath after you deliver but if its too late, take the bath in the early morning so that you will feel refreshed.
10. Deliver in the PRIVATE hospital.

Haha. The last point I need it so much. I need someone to take care of the baby while I recovering.

Okay, till then. Assalamualaikum.

Whatever works

>>  03 July 2014

Remember when KL/Selangor was so hot last 2 weeks? My skin responded to that weather. I have a very sensitive skin on my face, so it got peeled and itchy. So uncomfortable. The condition of my skin got even worse since I worked and slept in air-conditioning room. To make it even worse, I didn't want to spend my money on expensive moisturizer (scared it couldn't give best result and also because I'm cheapskate). So I just used the green Safi moisturiser and sunblock (which I forget the brand name). And they didn't help.

So after googling dry skin, I found out some people with dry skin use Rosken Dry Skin Cream on their face to cure the dryness. All this while I thought Rosken can only be used on body. Well I was wrong. The review on this Rosken cream was good. So I waited for weekend to arrive to buy it. But the weekend was 4 days more and my skin had became more drier.

So I just used this Palmer Cocoa Butter Lotion. Haha. I used this lotion during my pregnancy to prevent stretchmarks and there is still a lot of this lotion remains in the 2nd bottle. I became very desperate that I quickly grabbed it and applied it on my face.

I've been using this lotion for more than 1 week already. Thank goodness I don't have any zits breakout and the skin of my face has become more moist. So I guess I will keep using it.

Hehe.

So now the only problem I have is chubby cheeks.

Okay till then. Assalamualaikum.

Conquer

>>  02 July 2014

My baby just turned 7 months last Friday. So far she can slowly move forward and started to lift up her back. She's getting ready to crawl yey!  All this while she's been sleeping sharing bed with us. Before I gave birth, my husband and I wanted to put her in the cot after I finish my confinement. But when that moment arrived, I just couldn't do it. She was so little and what if something happen and I can't respond quickly? That was my thought. I even cried after 10 minutes putting her inside the cot. Haha. Mom's syndrome.

So at the end we shared the bed. And I still don't regret sharing bed. I can cuddle her and kiss her whenever I want. And of course so easy to breastfeed too.

However sometimes she just like to conquer my space too.

So now where should Mama sleeps?

Ok bye,

Till then, Assalamualaikum.

Pending Baby Items

>>  22 October 2013

Baby stuffs are so expensive. Even we started buying baby stuff when I reached 6 months and a half, we still think we can't afford to buy everything needed before the baby is born. So the only solution is to buy only the important item first and other item can be bought once we get our year end bonus. Hee.

Since there will be Mom and Baby Expo in SACC this weekend, we think this is the best opportunity to buy our pending baby items at low prices (hopefully).

We want to buy these stuffs this weekend:

1. Baby sleeping clothes (we want the 2 piece type, we already have a lot of jumpsuit) need 4 more.
2. Mitten and booties (we need like 6 sets more, apparently 4 sets that we have are not enough)
3. Bonnet (we have none of this. Sigh)
4. Baby bib (1 more please)
5. Modern Swaddle like below picture (2 should be enough)

so cute and easy to wrap
6. Newborn pillow (we only have 1, I don't think it's enough since baby puke a lot)
7. Nipple cream for me (from review in blogs, they said Medela Purelan is the best, gonna search for this)
8. Cooler set bag (erm I'm not sure whether this is important during my confinement period, but the brand I want Jingle Jungle has offer now so I might grab them asap)
9. Nursing bra (my friend said 5 pcs should be enough)
10. Diaper beg ( we want the Simple Dimple Papa bag. Jaya Jusco sells this bag at RM99.90 but we have seen this sold at RM85, hopefully we can buy it at RM85)

11. Nursing cover (I want the apron type so that it would be easy to have a peek of what my baby is doing. At first I want to DIY this but due to lack of effort to buy the material, I guess I just have to buy this)
12. Baby towel (we only have one which is definitely not enough. I need 2 more!)

Other than the above item, we still need to buy supplement and all the necessary oils for my confinement. As of now, for supplement I choose Shaklee and for the oil, I want the basic Set Anugerah (since I already have the corset (bengkung)).

And now for the item I want to buy after bonus (with the hope there is year end bonus. Oh bos, please be nice to us.)

1. Chest drawer for baby stuff (since my confinement will be at my hometown, so this can wait)

malm chest drawer from ikea - i stole this picture from google
2. Kapok Baby Mattress (the price can reach up to RM250 and since this mattress will only be used later in the nursery (or baby sitter house) so this item can wait)
3. Diaper stack
4. Cot Organizer
5. Thermometer
6. Electric Breastpump (I already bought a manual breastpump (Avent) before so now we just need to buy the electric breastpump. I don't have any dream breastpump but reviews said Medela Freestyle is the best. But I'm contemplating between the Medela Freestyle and Spectra M1. I like the silence sound feature by the Spectra M1. On top of that, its cheaper than Medela Freestyle!)

the size is not as bulky as other spectra model. its cute!
7. Baby beg for nursery
8. Cooler set bag for nursery

So many stuff right? Well I hope my baby will appreciate us when she is born and be a nice and healthy baby.

Haha.

Okay bye people. Please pray everything will go smoothly for me and my baby. I am now in my 33 weeks.

Till then, Assalamualaikum.

I love weekend!

>>  17 September 2013

I have a little bit of Tuesday blues today. Mainly because I just had 3 days weekend. Weekend is such a bliss for me. I love it so much that I'm counting days until next weekend, which by the way just 4 days more!

A little bit of what I did this weekend.

On Saturday, we went to Paradigm Mall. Purpose? Daiso, Kaison and Harvey Norman. I love Daiso so much because everything is cheap, RM5 only. I bought baskets, anti-slip mat and toilet mat. I am so into organizing stuff right now that whenever I am free, I like to organize things. My main inspiration is I Heart Organizing blog. Just google, the blogger is so famous (so lazy to paste the link, haha).

Then, on Sunday we went to a friend's wedding in Klang.

Here me in green outfit matched with the wedding theme. I know, I looked a little bit fat here, I am 7 months preggy now. I don't think I eat too much, in fact I always feel hungry. I need to eat rice during lunch and dinner, if not I will get too hungry and dizzy in the next morning.

Feeling helpless. Don't know how to maintain my weight. Sigh (-_-)

Okay, enough with weight problem. Let's continue.

Since we already in Klang, we went to Jusco Bukit Raja (we just love Jusco since there were offers everywhere). Our purpose was to actually find outfit for my husband's company dinner at the end of this month. The theme? Safari. If you google Safari theme dinner or Safari outfit, the outfits popped up are usually so dull. Brown, khaki, black and army green. Its dinner, it supposed to be fun. So we looked for cheetah and zebra pattern (actually just me, my husband just like it simple). But to no avail. Maybe I will just wear a cheetah scarf, haha.

We also tried to find it inside FOS.

Also to no avail.

Suddenly, I saw baby outfits with so low price and offers.

I quickly went to that section.

Aww so many cute rompers. Only RM13/pcs with some more 20% offer. But since we already have like 10 rompers, we didn't buy any of the rompers.

So we walked more to other section. Ooo finally we saw jumpsuit! And with offer. Wink.

These were the jumpsuits we bought. After offer, the price was RM9.60/pc. Hihi. And the brand was Little Bundle. The picture is not very clear, we bought plain blue, plain pink, stripes pink and stripes blue jumpsuit.

And oh before I forget, we also managed to buy Mami Poko newborn pampers with very cheap price!

Only RM50 for 2. Go now to Jusco Bukit Tinggi. The offer is until 29th September 2013.

And Monday was our laundry day, cleaning the house day and buy the groceries day. Alhamdulillah, we settled most of our chores on Monday.

Ok bye, till then. Assalamualaikum.

Its been so long : Baby Stuff

>>  06 September 2013

I last update my blog last June. I'd been so busy with work that I didn't have time to update this blog. Sorry darling.

A little update about me.

I am now 6 and a half moths pregnant. Estimated due date on early December. Time flies so fast. I got married last early December too. Apart from work, I am also busy preparing for the arrival of my baby. Preparing and shopping for baby is so fun. Sometimes I was too tired but thank goodness my husband is excited as well. We are now 50% ready in term of stuff preparation. Mentally? Erk. Can't say much on that.

A little bit on what we bought.

Hihi.

Soo many items huh? Hihi. I bought Gulliver cot from Ikea together with Vyssa Vinka mattress. The mattress is average in quality (sorry baby mama and ayah is cheap like that). The baby bath, nursing pillow and 4 in 1 mattress from Baby Love. If you have good eyes, you can see there are Tommee Tippee warmer and sterilizer underneath the baby bath. We bought them from One Baby World. I hope they can actually contribute or we just waste our money. They are RM399.90 in total.

I like other design from Baby Love but they already discontinued the pattern. So sad. So we settled for this pattern instead. My husband like this one better compared to the one I like. Well atleast one of us like it. So its all good. The cot bumper is RM129.90 (which we have 20% discount, so it is RM103.92). Well, do you know if you buy from Baby Love showroom you will get 20% discount for all items? I save around RM80 that day. Only the mattress sheet in above picture I bought from Ikea. I love the material they use a lot!

Above are rompers for 3 months baby. People have been saying we should buy only few clothes for the newborn size so I figured why not just buy 3 months baby rompers. Hihi. These are the only clothes I bought for my baby as of now. Will continue next week. Insyaallah.

In above picture, got towel (the white one), blanket (check), assorted pattern for the receiving blanket and assorted pattern for baby handkerchief (face towel). All pink! Haha.

Normally people will buy stroller after birth or nearing to delivery, but not my husband. He scared the offer will end, so he quickly buy one. We bough the Halford Zuzz 4 travel system which also include the baby carrier for RM950.40 at One Baby World. A bargain? I'm not so sure. We didn't do a lot of survey.

We love the black color a lot! Hee.

Okay that's all.

Bye people. Assalamualaikum.

My 1st Trimester

>>  04 June 2013

I already pass my 1st trimester and it wasn't so sweet like other lucky people I know. I guess I got all the symptoms which what normal pregnant women got at their 1st trimester. Not that I'm complaining. Mine wasn't that difficult. Alhamdulillah. I can still sleep at night, I can still drink and eat, I wasn't admitted to hospital, I can still go to a few of friend's wedding, I don't get any bleeding and most important I can still pray to Allah s.w.t.

It just sometimes I just wish I can push myself to be stronger especially in the morning. I want to wake up feeling fresh and motivated to work. I really can't wait for this morning sickness to stop. For others maybe their morning sickness gone when they reach 3 months but not for me. I still have it but I can positively say it already reduced.

So for others who still going through their 1st trimester, some tips:

1. Always make sure you eat. 3 main meals / day and between them, have a snack/drink milo or oat.
2. Don't eat a lot of asam. People have been saying it can cause jaundice to your baby.
3. Drink plenty of warm water during day and less of it during night. Warm water can avoid you feeling thirsty. Nearing to sleep time, please try not to drink any water or you will always need to go to toilet.
4. Avoid food or drink that can cause gassy stomach like ice water, tea, broccoli etc.
5. If you feeling so sick, take nap! It does help. For me, I need to take nap 1 hour in the morning and 1 hour in the afternoon. Sometimes, I don't get the 1 hour but I guess 20 minutes is good too.
6. If you are like me having sensitive skin, please switch to other soft skincare. I got a terrible peeling skin below my mouth. It looked red and sore. And please don't use any makeup on it like compact powder or even BB cream. They make it worst.

Good luck to all mummy to be! (^_^)

Before I go, here my baby at 2 months.

Till then, Assalamualaikum.
